TRUST IN THE NAME OF THE LORD

"Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God."

— PSALMS 20:7 (KJV)

In today’s world, many believers have slowly shifted their trust from God to worldly things. Some rely on money and possessions, while others depend on their knowledge, connections, or systems around them. These are the modern-day “chariots and horses”, things people trust instead of God.

Yet, the Word of God calls us to a higher reality. We are not merely to acknowledge God, but to remember His name, meaning to rely on it fully, anchor our faith in it, and draw confidence from it. The name of the LORD represents His character, His covenant, and His unchanging power. “Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.” — Jeremiah 17:7 (KJV).

Trust in God establishes a life that cannot be shaken. While systems may fail and human strength may falter, God remains constant. His name is not just a refuge, it is a fortified stronghold. (Proverbs 18:10). No matter the storms that arise, there is security for those who trust in Him. True peace is not derived from external stability, but from an inward confidence in God. (Isaiah 26:3).

God does not oppose wisdom or systems, but He must never be replaced by them in our hearts. The strength of man is limited, but the strength of God is infinite and unfailing.
“They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.” — Psalm 125:1 (KJV)
Those who put their trust in the name of the Lord will stand firm and will never be put to shame.

Prayer

Father, help me to trust You fully and not depend on the things of this world. Keep my heart fixed on You and teach me to rely on Your strength alone. Let my confidence remain in Your name always, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
