THE POWER OF EXPECTATION

"Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you."

— MATTHEW 9:29

Expectation is a powerful spiritual force. It positions you to receive from God. What you expect often determines what you experience.

In Scripture, those who encountered miracles carried a strong sense of expectation. Faith may deliver, but expectation is what first gives it a picture. The woman with the issue of blood declared within herself, “If I may but touch His garment, I shall be whole” (Matthew 9:21). That expectation drew virtue from Jesus and resulted in her healing.

Expectation prepares your heart for God’s move. When you rise each day expecting His favor, guidance, and intervention, you become more aware of His presence and more responsive to His leading. “For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.” — Proverbs 23:18.

This assures us that godly expectations are never wasted. Even when circumstances seem contrary, maintain your expectation, it is a bold declaration that your trust is in God, true expectation must be rooted in God’s Word, not in mere wishful thinking. Faith is strengthened when it stands on His promises: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” — Hebrews 11:1

So, refuse to expect defeat—expect victory.
Refuse to expect lack—expect provision.
Refuse to expect delay—expect divine timing.

Your expectation acts like a magnet, drawing outcomes in its direction.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, Thank You, Lord, for Your promises. Help me to expect Your goodness, trust You beyond what I see, and stand firm in faith. I declare that my expectations will not be cut off. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
