YOUR GROWTH IS GOD'S WILL

"But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."

— 2 Peter 3:18 (NKJV)

God’s desire for you is clear: He wants you to grow. Your spiritual growth is not a suggestion; it is God’s will. Scripture affirms this truth, saying, “This is the will of God, even your sanctification” (1 Thessalonians 4:3). From the moment you receive Christ, God begins a lifelong work of shaping you into His likeness (Romans 8:29). He never intends for believers to remain the same year after year, but to move from glory to glory.

Growth happens as you stay connected to Christ. Just as a branch grows by remaining attached to the vine, your life flourishes when you walk closely with Jesus through prayer, the Word, and obedience. Jesus said, “Abide in Me, and I in you… he that abideth in Me bringeth forth much fruit” (John 15:4–5). As you continue in God’s Word, you become His disciple indeed (John 8:31).

God also uses seasons, challenges, and correction to help you mature. These moments are not meant to break you but to build you. “Whom the Lord loves He chastens” (Hebrews 12:6), and through this loving discipline, we become partakers of His holiness (Hebrews 12:10). Trials produce endurance, character, and hope (Romans 5:3–4; James 1:2–4).

As you grow, your life begins to bear fruit—love, wisdom, strength, and good works that glorify God. Jesus said, “Herein is My Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit” (John 15:8). This fruit is the evidence of a Spirit-led life (Galatians 5:22–23).

Where God has planted you, He intends for you to grow. As you yield daily to His Spirit, His will for your growth will surely be fulfilled.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for desiring my growth. Help me to remain rooted in Christ and responsive to Your Word. Strengthen me through every process and cause me to grow in grace and fruitfulness, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
