MEEKNESS IS NOT WEAKNESS

"The meek will He guide in judgment, and the meek will He teach His way."

— Psalms 25:9

Meekness is often misunderstood. Many think it means being passive, timid, or unable to stand firm. But in God’s kingdom, meekness is not weakness—it is strength under God’s control. A meek person is not powerless; rather, they have chosen to submit their power, rights, and will to God.

Jesus Himself described His nature as meek: “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart.” — Matthew 11:29 (NKJV). If meekness were weakness, Christ could not have embodied it. Meekness is the strength to obey God even when pride wants to react, retaliate, or resist. It is the grace to remain teachable, humble, and yielded to God’s ways.

The Bible tells us that God actively works with the meek. He guides them and teaches them (Psalm 25:9). While the proud rely on their own understanding, the meek depend on God’s wisdom—and they are never led astray.

Scripture also says: “But the meek shall inherit the earth.” — Matthew 5:5. This inheritance speaks of divine favor, stability, and lasting influence. Meekness positions us to receive grace, for “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble” (James 4:6).

When you choose meekness, you choose alignment with God’s power. You may not shout the loudest, but heaven listens closely. Meekness does not make you less—it makes room for God to be more in your life.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for teaching me that meekness is strength surrendered to You. Help me walk in humility, strength, and obedience, that Your grace may rest upon me. In Jesus Name, Amen.
