THE WORD IS PROFITABLE
"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable…"
— 2 TIMOTHY 3:16
These words remind us that the Bible is not merely an ancient text or a collection of wise sayings—it is the living breath of God given for our daily transformation. When we open Scripture, we are encountering God’s voice, active and intentional, shaping our hearts and minds.
Paul tells us that God’s Word is profitable. It yields spiritual return when we receive it with humility.
First, it is profitable for teaching. Scripture reveals who God is and who we are called to be (Psalm 119:105). In a world full of voices, the Word grounds us in truth and stabilizes our beliefs in God’s unchanging character.
Second, it is profitable for reproof. God’s Word lovingly confronts us when we stray (Proverbs 3:12). It exposes attitudes, habits, and thoughts that do not align with His will—not to shame us, but to draw us back into fellowship with Him.
Third, Scripture brings correction. God does not simply point out what is wrong; He shows us the right path forward (Psalm 19:7). His Word restores what is broken and redirects our steps toward wisdom and obedience.
Finally, it trains us in righteousness. Like a faithful coach, the Word shapes our character over time, forming Christlike maturity through daily practice and perseverance (James 1:22).
When we consistently engage with Scripture, we are investing in eternal profit. God’s Word does not return empty—it transforms, renews, and equips us to live for His glory (Isaiah 55:11). May we approach it daily with expectation, knowing that what God has breathed out is exactly what we need.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word, breathed by You and given for my growth. Teach me, correct me, and train me in righteousness. I receive Your truth with humility and walk daily in obedience, that my life may glorify You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
