FORGIVENESS AND HEALING
"...then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
— 2 CHRONICLES 7:14
Forgiveness and healing are closely connected in God’s heart. In our anchor scripture God did not promise healing first, He promised forgiveness first. The question is Why? Because the deepest sickness is not always physical or outward; sometimes it is spiritual. When sin is dealt with, restoration can begin.
Unforgiveness, whether from God or toward others creates weight in the soul. Guilt drains strength. Bitterness poisons peace. But when forgiveness flows, healing follows and the burden lifted.
Scripture shows this pattern clearly. In Psalm 103:3, the psalmist says God “forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases.” Forgiveness and healing are mentioned together. In James 5:16, we are told to confess our faults and pray for one another “that ye may be healed.” Confession opens the door to restoration.
Even when Jesus ministered, He often addressed forgiveness before physical healing. In Mark 2:5, He told the paralytic, “Son, thy sins be forgiven thee,” before commanding him to rise and walk. Healing started in the spirit before it manifested in the body.
Forgiveness is not weakness; it is divine strength. When we humble ourselves, pray, seek God, and turn from wrong ways, He does not reject us. He restores us.
Healing begins the moment forgiveness is received and also the moment forgiveness is given.

Prayer
Father, thank You for the gift of forgiveness. Cleanse my heart from anything that separates me from You. Let Your forgiveness bring healing to my spirit, mind, and life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
