EVERYTHING SHALL BE ADDED
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
— Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
God is deeply committed to providing everything His children need for life and comfort. In Matthew 6:33, Jesus assures us that when God is our priority, “all these things shall be added.” This reveals the heart of God towards our needs as His children.
Elijah during a severe famine, when the land was dry and resources were scarce, God commanded ravens to feed him by the brook Cherith (1 Kngs 17:4–6). Morning and evening, provision came in an unusual way. When the brook dried up, God had already arranged for a widow in Zarephath to sustain him. Heaven had a supply line that the drought could not stop. This shows that God’s provision is not limited by economic conditions, or human systems.
Another powerful example is the story of the four lepers in Samaria (2 Kings 7). In the midst of famine and hopelessness, God caused the Syrian army to flee, leaving behind food, silver, gold, and abundance. What the entire city could not have produced even in years, God released in one moment. The lepers stepped into unexpected provision because God had already gone ahead of them.
Philippians 4:19 declares that God supplies all our needs according to His riches in glory, and in Psalm 23:1 we are reminded that with the Lord as our Shepherd, we lack nothing. No matter the season, God remains faithful. He can use ravens, widows, or even our least expected enemies to ensure that everything needed is added. Our comfort and daily living are secure in His hands.
