IT HAS BEEN SETTLED, I

"When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost."

— JOHN 19:30.

When Jesus said, “It is finished,” He was not speaking in defeat. He was making a powerful declaration. The word Tetelestai means paid in full, accomplished, completed. It was not a cry of weakness, but a statement of victory, that the work of salvation was fully done and settled.

The debt of sin was fully paid.
(Romans 6:23). Jesus took our punishment upon Himself. There is no unpaid balance. Nothing is hanging over your life.

The power of the enemy was broken.
On the cross, Jesus cancelled every accusation against us and triumphed over the enemy (Colossians 2:14–15). Satan lost his legal ground. The accuser was disarmed.

Redemption was completed once and for all.
Christ secured eternal redemption with one sacrifice (Heb.9:12). It does not need to be repeated. The work is perfect and final.

This is why we do not fight to gain victory. We stand in the victory Jesus already won. We are not trying to settle what has already been settled. Always remember:
Your salvation — settled.
Your freedom — settled.
Your victory — settled.
Your standing with God — settled.
Rest in the finished work of Christ. Walk boldly in it, It has been settled.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for the finished work of Christ. I live confidently in what Jesus has settled and let it produce undeniable results in my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
