WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS

"Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you."

— 1 PETER 5:7

The hymn “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” by Joseph M. Scriven was written from a place of deep pain. After losing loved ones and going through hard times, he discovered a powerful truth: we are never alone in our struggles.

As believers, we have a special privilege, we can come to Jesus at any time. He is not only our Savior but also our friend. He listens, understands, and truly cares about everything that concerns us.
This is very true. Many times: We worry instead of praying (Matthew 6:25–27), We hold on to problems instead of trusting God (Proverbs 3:5–6), We keep quiet instead of talking to God (Psalm 62:8). But God invites us to bring everything to Him, especially in times like this when there may be pressure, uncertainty, or challenges around us.

Philippians 4:6–7 reminds us: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God… will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Jesus understands your situation, your pain, delays, disappointments, and even the things you haven’t told anyone. When you bring your burdens to Him, He gives you peace, strength, and comfort. Psalm 55:22 – “Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you.

Don’t carry your burdens alone. Talk to Jesus about everything. He is a faithful Friend.?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for being my faithful Friend. I lay every worry, burden, and concern at Your feet. Help me to trust You fully and not carry what You have already taken upon Yourself. Fill my heart with Your perfect peace. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
