MY CUP RUNS OVER

"Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over."

— PSALM 23:5 (KJV)

A life in Christ is not designed for dryness or barely-enough, it is ordained for overflow. When David declared, “my cup runneth over,” he was not speaking of mere survival, but of divine abundance that cannot be contained. This overflow is the evidence of God’s presence, favor, and covenant at work in a believer’s life.

God does not just meet needs; He exceeds them. “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think…”— Ephesians 3:20(KJV). He prepares a table in the presence of enemies, meaning your lifting is visible, undeniable, and God-orchestrated.

The anointing is the key to this overflow. When your head is anointed, your life cannot remain ordinary. The oil represents the Holy Spirit, and wherever He is at work, there is increase, multiplication, and supernatural supply. (1 John 2:20). What looks small in your hands becomes more than enough in God’s hands. “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you…” — 2 Corinthians 9:8 (KJV).

Overflow also means impact. A full cup blesses you, but an overflowing cup blesses others. God fills you so you can pour into lives around you. Your life becomes a channel, not a container.

However, this reality is sustained by abiding in the Shepherd. Psalm 23 begins with “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want”, and that relationship is what guarantees the overflow. When you stay under His guidance, you cannot lack direction, provision, or preservation. Refuse a mindset of scarcity.

Confession

My cup runs over daily! I walk in divine abundance, favor, and supernatural supply. I am a channel of blessings, and through me, lives are transformed. In Christ, I lack nothing!
