SANCTIFICATION PRECEDE GOD'S MOVE
"And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves: for to morrow the LORD will do wonders among you."
— Joshua 3:5
When an average, thoughtful individual is invited to meet royalty or a high-ranking political figure, such as the president of a nation or a king, his natural realm response is preparation. One would carefully go through their closet, select the finest attire, ensure it is properly cleaned, pressed, and worn with dignity. This process of preparation mirrors the essence of sanctification.
To be sanctified means to be cleansed, purified, and made worthy of experiencing God's presence and power. While redemption grants us the privilege to access God as believers, it is sanctification that truly positions us to invoke and attract His divine presence.
Without sanctification, the fullness of God's move in our lives remains elusive. The Bible emphasizes this in Exodus 19:10-11, where God commanded Moses: "Go unto the people, and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their clothes... for on the third day the LORD will come down in the sight of all the people upon Mount Sinai." This passage reveals the necessity of preparation before encountering God's glory.
Sanctification is not just an outward act but an inward consecration, aligning our hearts, minds, and actions with His will. It is a prerequisite for divine visitation, breakthroughs, and supernatural manifestations in every aspect of life.
As we persist in prayer during this season, seeking to experience the wonders of God's presence in the year ahead, let us be reminded that sanctification is the foundation for every divine move.
