ALIVE IN CHRIST

"He that heareth my word, and believeth… is passed from death unto life."

— JOHN 5:24

To be alive in Christ means more than just existing—it means truly living. Jesus makes it clear in John 5:24: whoever hears His word and believes in Him has already passed from death to life. This is not a future hope alone; it is a present reality. The moment we believe, something changes inside us. We move from spiritual death into spiritual life.

Before Christ, the Bible says we were “dead in trespasses and sins” (Eph. 2:1). Sin separated us from God. But through His mercy and love, God made us alive together with Christ (Eph. 2:4–5). This new life is not based on our effort; it is a gift of grace.

Being alive in Christ also means we are new. “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Our past no longer defines us. Our mistakes no longer control us. We are forgiven, restored, and given a fresh start. Nevertheless the consiousness of this life is needed to live it.

This life in Christ is abundant and purposeful. Jesus said, “I am come that they might have life… more abundantly” (John 10:10). His life in us gives us strength to overcome sin and courage to walk in righteousness. “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive” (1 Corinthians 15:22).

Remember: you are not spiritually dead, lost, or hopeless. In Christ, you are alive—free, forgiven, and filled with His Spirit. Walk in that newness of life (Romans 6:4).

Prayer

Heavenly Father, Thank You for saving me and making me new. I walk each day in the life You have given me. Teach me to live in faith, obedience, and joy as Your life shine through me continually. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
